When the most interesting thing about a political campaign involves a candidate who chose not to run, it's safe to say that the race doesn't exactly rank up there with Lincoln-Douglas.
RENO, Nev. -- Despite extensive pretrial publicity, a prosecutor expressed confidence that an objective jury can be found to try the man accused of poisoning his wife, former Nevada state Controller Kathy Augustine.
The Clark County School Board members oversee the nation's fifth-largest school district, with more than 300,000 students and an operating budget of $1.8 billion. The district is the state's largest employer, and receives the largest share of tax dollars of any entity in the state.
